FAQs

What services do you offer?

1

We offer a wide range of veterinary services to care for your pet at every stage of life. This includes routine health checks, vaccinations, and preventative care, as well as medical diagnostics and digital radiology performed on-site. Our team provides both routine and advanced surgical procedures, including orthopaedics and dentistry, along with hospitalisation and treatment when needed. We also support your pet’s overall wellbeing with behaviour advice, dietary and nutritional counselling, geriatric care for older pets, and grooming under sedation. In addition, we offer microchipping, parasite prevention, and a range of quality pet food products. For new puppy owners, we also run in-house Puppy Preschool to help give your puppy the best start in life.

How do I know if my pet needs to see a vet?

2

If something doesn’t seem quite right with your pet, it’s always best to have them checked. Pets can be very good at hiding when they’re unwell, so even small changes can be important.

Signs to watch for include changes in eating or drinking, vomiting or diarrhoea, coughing, limping, low energy, or any unusual lumps, wounds, or swelling. Changes in behaviour—like being quieter than usual or more irritable—can also mean something is wrong.

If your pet may have eaten something they shouldn’t, seems in pain, or you’re unsure, it’s always safest to contact your vet for advice.

What do I need to know before bringing home a new puppy or kitten?

3

Bringing home a new puppy or kitten is an exciting time, and a little preparation can help them settle in smoothly. Before they arrive, make sure your home is safe and ready with essentials such as appropriate food, bedding, toys, and a secure, comfortable space, along with a litter tray for kittens if needed. Establishing a consistent routine for feeding, toilet training, and rest will help them adjust, and early socialisation with positive reinforcement is important for their development. It’s also important to plan for their ongoing healthcare, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, and desexing at the appropriate age. To support you, we offer a first visit free for puppies and kittens, which includes a 30-minute consultation with a vet, a general health check, and guidance on diet, toilet training, parasite prevention, and any questions you may have about caring for your new pet.

What happens on the day of my pet’s surgery?

4

On the day of your pet’s surgery, we begin by admitting your pet, completing the necessary consent forms, and performing a general health check. If pre-anaesthetic blood testing has been recommended, our nurses will collect a sample, which helps us identify any underlying health conditions and tailor the anaesthetic medications safely. In-house blood test results are typically available within around 15 minutes, after which the veterinarian reviews and interprets the results before administering a light sedation to prepare your pet for surgery. Our nursing team then carefully prepares your pet for the procedure, which may include clipping/shaving the surgical area depending on the type of surgery. The veterinarian performs the surgery while our nurses closely monitor your pet throughout the anaesthetic. Once the procedure is complete, your pet is moved to a warm, comfortable recovery area where our team gently supports them as they wake. We will contact you to let you know how the surgery went, and your pet will be ready to go home once they are awake, stable, and able to sit and stand on their own.
