Meet our team
Dr Andrew Stone BVSc.
Veterinary Surgeon/Practice Owner
Dr Andrew is a Maudsland local with over 25 years’ experience as a veterinarian. Originally from Darwin, he moved to the Gold Coast in the early 90s, completed school at Coombabah High, and went on to study Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland.
After graduating in 2000, he worked in mixed and small animal practice in Maleny and Beenleigh before heading to the UK, where he spent over six years in busy small animal clinics. During this time, he met his wife Sarah and welcomed their first child, Ethan.
Returning to the Gold Coast in 2011, Dr Andrew has worked in Upper Coomera and Maudsland ever since. In 2014, he and Sarah welcomed their second child, a daughter, Imogen. In 2016, he opened Maudsland Veterinary Surgery, built on his passion for providing high-quality, community-focused care.
At home, Dr Andrew has a Burmilla cat, Willow, a Cavoodle, Holly, and a variety of aquarium fish.
As a dedicated local, Dr Andrew is committed to caring for your pets at every stage of life, from preventative health to times of illness.
Dr Elana Meyering BSc BVSc
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Elana has been dedicated to general small animal practice since 2015, relocating from South Africa to Australia in 2016 with her husband, Peter. Their furry family includes a beloved kitty who gets royal treatment, and Elana fondly remembers her two fancy rats, sharing her passion for their care with anyone who’ll listen. Now, she’s also a proud mother to a gorgeous 1-year-old daughter.
When she’s not at the clinic, Elana loves exploring the outdoors on hiking adventures or curling up with a good book and a comforting cup of tea. Her warmth, knowledge, and love for animals make her a treasured part of our team.
Dr Sarani O'Carroll BSc (Vet Biol) BVMS
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Sarani graduated from Murdoch University in 2010 and began her career in a busy mixed practice in Mildura. After two years there, she left to pursue her dream as a horse vet in the Gold Coast hinterland. She then had the opportunity to volunteer with Vets Beyond Borders in India, and returned with a passion for small animal medicine and surgery. She continued working with pets up until she had her first daughter. She is currently a busy mum to four children after having almost a litter with her last pregnancy. Dr Sarani is currently travelling around Australia with her family and will be back in January 2027.
